An Update from the Interview

As early as eleven in the morning, I am already preparing for lunch so we will be ready for my interview. We left the house about five minutes past 12 noon with the scorching heat of the summer still reaches more than 40 degrees. We arrived at the interview site ten minutes before one o’clock because of the slight traffic delay that we encounter. But we could have been early if hubby took the other route at the expressway and has a direct route to the company’s location. Anyway, it wasn’t a big deal at all since I was there on time.

The interview went well and I even had a good time during the interview but was told to wait for a call for another interview appointment and this time with the big boss already. I am excited with the first outcome and I can’t wait to start working again but as we went home hubby told me some bad news if I will commit and accept the job offer. The dilemma came when they want to transfer my visa to their sponsorship and not with my husband. If that happens then I’m going to lose a lot of benefits that was provided to us from hubby’s company and the list is long if I’m going to mention it one by one.

So the following day, I made up my mind and call them to inform about my situation and if we can make some sort of compromise to keep my visa status with my husband.  But since it is their policy to transfer my visa and they cannot provide me with the benefits that I will lose so I decided to decline the job offer. Although the pay rate is quite good already but it won’t be enough to replace what we are going to lose especially the education assistant given to us. So I am now going back to square one again yet on the other hand, I might be busy too in the coming days and keep you posted with it.

Here Goes the Dreaded Interview Again

Earlier last week, I got a call for a job interview in one of the most prestigious car company ever established and I was so excited at the same time nervous of it. As I think many would be when and if you are interviewed. I told my husband about it that I have a scheduled interview at 1 o’clock in the afternoon so he can arrange his work schedule and I don’t have to get a cab to be there on time. That also means that we have to take our lunch a little bit earlier than before because there’s a 45 minute window of travel time from our house to the interview site.

Anyway, I expect that there will be some sort of personal background check that they might ask or conduct so I gather the necessary documents that I have that the personnel department might need. I became busy that day just for the preparation of the interview alone and have hubby play with our son the whole afternoon because I don’t want to be disturbed in my concentration.

On the other hand, employment screening and criminal background check nowadays is just simple and very easy to access because of the advent of reliable technology. That verification of your data and information is just a click of the mouse away and it makes the employment process even faster. Although I wouldn’t say that it cannot be manipulated but I think you just have to find and choose the most reliable technical support which is appropriate to your needs.

Funny and Witty Interview Questions

I was browsing the internet several days back to prepare for a job interview that I’m going to have when I run across some funny article regarding witty interview questions that actually was asked in HR. But I am not sure if it really were asked during the interview yet it is really pretty hilarious if you’re going to give much thought of it and if you are the one who answered during the interview. So here’s some of what I like from the post that I’ve read.

“Interviewer:  He ordered a cup of coffee for the candidate. The coffee arrived kept before the candidate and then he asked what is before you? “

So, if you are that candidate what will be your answer then? And I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t the same as the candidate mentioned in this scenario.

Candidate: Instantly replied “Tea”.

He got selected…! You know how and why did he said “TEA” when he knows very well that coffee was served?

“Answer: The question was “What is before you?” It simply means the U-alphabet so your response should be “TEA” as in the T – alphabet.”

Here’s the next one…

“The interviewer asked the candidate, this is your last question of the interview.”

Please tell me the exact position of the center of this table where you have kept your files?

The candidate confidently put one of his fingers at some point on the table and said that this was the central point of the table. Then the interviewer asked how did you get to know that this being the central point of this table?

And he answers quickly, “Sir, you are not likely to ask anymore question, as you have said that it was the last question that was promised”.

Hence, he was selected because of his quick-wittedness.

Or perhaps he was just thinking outside of the box? Well, it your choice whether you gonna answer the same thing in one of your upcoming interview when you are asked.
