I just read an article with the title “What Abraham Lincoln thought about the Declaration of Independence” on July 4, 1776. And when it comes to this kind of US history, I immediately would remember the movies ID4 and most especially Nicolas Cage’s National Treasure film. But then many believe that America needed a second revolution since there’s a lot to consider than just the concept of burning firecrackers in every 4th of July.
The revolution that I am talking about it not just happening in America but it is evidently found in the whole world. That it is the sad reality of the growing slavery and more so with the so called modern slavery which is human trafficking. It is indeed a global issue that has a great impact to Lincoln’s anti-slavery speech before and that “The truths of the Declaration are eternally relevant, a perpetual call to honor liberty and the dignity of the individual”.
I just hope that we still can value the purpose of every country’s Declaration of Independence and not just the famous Fourth of July.
