I made a post a few days ago about a Greek yogurt that has been recalled and pulled out from store shelves because of contamination from the manufacturing plant. And now here comes another big known manufacturing company who issues recall of infant Motrin drops in the US. It is believe to be due to a potential contamination with plastic particles, the company has said. According to the news that the company is recalling about 200,000 bottles of concentrated Motrin drops for infants.
The company has specified that the half-ounce bottles of original berry flavored drops are the ones affected and is requesting all retailers to pull it off from their stores shelves. And if you happen to have one or two in your cupboard or anyone whom you know, kindly spread the word that it should be discarded as soon as possible before it can cause any kind of problem, if there is. The company also suggests that you contact them so they can issue refunds for the affected product that you bought.
The manufacturer of Motrin drops for infants made a statement that it has worked with their supplier to ensure corrective measures are in place and that this kind of situation won’t happen in the future. The company has also given some assurance that the consumption of the affected medicine is unlikely to cause adverse medical reactions even it was believed to have been contaminated with plastic particles.
And one last thing, be responsible enough in disposing any unwanted medicines and not just simply throwing them away in the dumpster. You are not only protecting your family but others too and that includes the environment as well.
Repost from hubby’s blog.
I’ve been featuring different sort of stuff ranging from foods, supplements and medicines that has been recalled either by health officials or the company itself and or both in my previous posts. And this one is no difference from them all as Richmond-based Glass Onion Catering is recalling a reported more than 90 tons of ready-to-eat salads and sandwiches because they may be contaminated with Escherichia Coli or E. coli.
And to be more specific, the products that are being recalled were produced between 13 Sept and 14 Nov 2013. Reports says that it was shipped in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Texas. And there have been several people in three states who were sickened after eating pre-packaged salads with grilled chicken.
The recalled pre-packaged salads and sandwich wraps that reportedly have E. coli contains cooked chicken and ham. The Food Safety and Inspection Service say that the E. coli bacteria causes dehydration, bloody stools and abdominal cramps and to some, it come develop a form of kidney failure especially to young children and the elderly.
While full investigation is under way to pin point any source of contamination, the FDA is encouraging consumers who purchased the contaminated products to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of it. And if you want to see the full lists of products being recalled, check the Food and Drug Administration’s website at:

Online shopping is a fast growing industry and there seems no way of slowing it down and in fact, it does not only double in the past few years instead it multiplies many folds already. There are so many advantages of shopping online and one of the main reasons is the convenience and has cheaper price tag. There are even times that you get discount coupons then you can check it out with just one click of the mouse. Much to it is that you don’t have to wait in the long queue especially during holidays. And there are even so many companies that are offering to deliver what you bought from them at your doorstep at no extra cost.
But I am not saying the there’s no associated risk when you shop online knowing that there are so many reported crimes regarding internet usage. Another thing that I want to bring to everyone’s attention is the electrical power differences from one country to the other. What I meant to say is that most countries in the Americas are supplied with 110 volts while the rest are using 220 volts. So when you buy some electronic stuff online make sure that you are buying one that fits your country’s power supply. And when you are in doubt you can buy a device like the outlet tester at musicians friend to check the voltage of your electrical supply before you plug-in any electronic equipment.
On the other hand, because of so many issues with regards to this matter, many buildings and households are adapting to two different electrical supplies. In some houses they have their own electrical regulator especially made for any electronics that are only equipped with 110 volts.
After a week or so of humidity and a few days of intense heat, comes the sand storm and you know what will happen next. And if not then you should know that these fine sands (yeah, lots of them) will get into even the smallest hole or gap in your window panel and doors. So there will be dust all over the house again when this storm is done. It is the reason why all the window panels and all the sides of the doors in the house are all taped-up.
And that’s not all there is because I am just talking about the mess that it will bring inside the house and not yet the one that you can obviously see outside. As what I have said, aside from the very obvious fine sands all over the front yard, it also carries all the trash and whatever that the storm can carry with along the way. Sometimes if it’s so strong already and would last longer than we thought it is then it surely will make its own mini dunes. The worse thing is that it also blankets the windshield of hubby’s car and he is just lucky that the fittings of his car doors are still in good shape.
I saw hubby peeking at the back door glass earlier this afternoon as if he was looking into something or perhaps observing on one thing. And then he later told me that he was actually checking on the lemongrass that he transferred yesterday afternoon at the far side corner with more view of the sun. But when I look at the lemongrass that he moved, it’s like it was snapped of its gut because it looks dry on the outside and the long leaves were bent, although not all, and the colors isn’t green or yellow. It was like it was torched.
And speaking of which, our neighbor later in the afternoon posted on his FB the temperature of the day that he got in his car’s dashboard and you won’t believe what I saw. Its 48 degrees and the time that he quoted with it, is 12:30 in the afternoon. It may not be an accurate reading but I’m pretty sure it is just near with it or could be dead spot on because I really felt that it is so hot outside. And that could be the reason why the plants and veggies that we have, including the newly plated lemongrass wilted that fast. It could not be that it wasn’t watered because the soil is wet when I touched it. So it has to be from the scorching heat of the sun.
